things i still remember.
1. i said i wanted a paper ballerina. you stopped talking for ten minutes and i asked what you were doing. you sent me a shitty cellphone picture of a paper ballerina. youd made it out of busch light cardboard paper. i wanted to say i love you, but i laughed very hard instead.
2. when i told you my two biggest fears were crocodiles and the way peoples mouths turn orange after eating spaghetti, you found a childrens book called “spaghetti manners” with a cartoon crocodile eating pasta on the cover for me.
3. after my sisters birthday, i was sad about a lot of things. old things mostly. i thought out loud that i would very much like to take a midnight walk. you said “if you want, i could walk five paces behind you. that way you would be alone, but safe.”
4. when i sobbed into your chest saying i didnt want to leave, you wiped away my snot, and tears, but you did not try to stop me, or fill me up with words. you just loved me silently, like i wasnt something to be saved.
